Clean Green Power Washing

Deck Cleaning in West Lake Hills, TX

Deck Cleaning in West Lake Hills, TX with a low-pressure method matched to every surface, from our shop on Pond Springs Road. Free quotes, Monday to Saturday.

Deck Cleaning for West Lake Hills Homes

West Lake Hills, the small hillside city locals call Westlake, grew quickly in the 1970s and 1980s. Many of its 1,370 homes have now spent decades in Central Texas heat and humidity, and that time shows up on siding, stone, roofs and concrete.

Your deck is where summer evenings happen, so it should feel good under bare feet and look good from the kitchen window. Heat, cedar pollen and dust settle into the grooves between boards, and any section that sits in shade holds moisture long enough for algae to take hold. Our crew cleans decks across West Lake Hills with an eco-friendly approach built around low pressure and the right pretreatment for each surface. Weathered wood, fresh stain, painted railings and composite planks each get a different setup, so the finish stays put and the grain stays smooth. Want the fence done too? Tell us, and we will fold it into the same appointment. Clean Green Power Washing has served Central Texas homeowners since 2018 from our shop on Pond Springs Rd. Every Kind of Deck (and the Fence Too)

Natural Wood That Has Gone Gray

Sun and rain wear down the top layer of untreated wood, leaving loose gray fibers and a dull surface. Heavy pressure only rips those fibers up. Instead, we let the pretreatment do most of the work and follow with a controlled rinse, which leaves the boards smoother and ready for a new coat whenever you choose.

Decks With a Stain or Paint Finish

Finished decks are where careless washing does the most harm. Our crew reads the coating first, then sets pressure low enough that stain and paint stay firmly attached. Railings, stair treads and fascia boards are cleaned at the same gentle setting, so the whole structure brightens together instead of one section looking stripped.

Semi-Transparent and Solid Stains

Whether your deck carries a see-through stain or a solid color, the cleaning should refresh it, not remove it. We match the mix to the product on the boards and keep the wand at a safe distance. The result is richer color, crisper grain and a surface that finally feels clean underfoot again.

Composite Decking and Fences

Composite planks do not rot, but they do collect a chalky film, mildew spots and sticky pollen. We adjust the cleaner and the spray pattern so the boards come up even, with no streaks. If a wood privacy fence, a vinyl fence or composite panels border the deck, we can clean them on the same visit.

5 Common Deck Problems We Clean in West Lake Hills

Not every stain on a deck is simple dirt. Some of it is living growth, some is mineral, and some is weathered wood. Knowing the difference is how we pick the right cleaner and the right pressure. On the hillsides of West Lake Hills, runoff tends to follow the same paths across walls and walkways storm after storm, so stains build in lines rather than evenly.

Algae and Mildew Near the Ground

The lowest boards, stair stringers and fence bottoms sit closest to damp soil and sprinkler spray. That is where green and black growth starts. A pretreatment made for organic growth softens it, and a low-pressure rinse removes it without stripping the surrounding wood or finish.

Sprinkler Spots and Hard Water Marks

Irrigation that reaches the deck leaves chalky rings as the water dries. On composite boards and painted rails, those spots are easy to see. We use a cleaner suited to mineral residue on the affected areas, then rinse the deck evenly so it dries to one tone.

Dirt Trapped at the Edges

Where decking meets the house wall, around posts and under the lip of each stair, grime piles up in thick lines. These edges are the first thing people notice once the middle is clean. We slow down on them and work each edge with the wand until it matches.

Pollen and Dust in the Gaps

Cedar pollen and fine dust settle into the grooves and seams, then hold moisture against the wood. Left alone, that film feeds mildew. A thorough clean clears the gaps as well as the tops of the boards, which helps the deck dry faster after the next storm.

Streaks on the Fence Line

Fences pick up a dark stripe where water runs down the boards, plus green growth along the bottom rail near the soil. If you add the fence to your visit, we treat those areas first and then clean in even sections so the finished run has no tiger stripes.

Why West Lake Hills Homeowners Choose Us

Homeowners in West Lake Hills call us for the same reasons our Austin customers do: a careful method, a crew that treats the property with respect and a quote that says exactly what will be done.

Low Pressure Where It Belongs

Paint, siding, shingles and soft stone are cleaned with a soft wash: low pressure and a cleaning solution that breaks down the growth, so the surface comes clean without being worn down. Concrete gets surface cleaning equipment instead.

An Eco-Friendly Way to Clean

Clean Green was built around eco-friendly exterior cleaning. We choose solutions for the surface in front of us, use only what the job needs, and rinse plants and beds so the yard is left the way we found it.

A Local Shop Since 2018

How Our Deck Cleaning Process Works

A good result is mostly about the prep and the pressure. These five steps are the same on every deck we clean, whether the boards are brand new composite or wood that has seen many summers.

1. Walkthrough and Material Check

A tech looks over the deck, and the fence if it is included, to identify the material, the condition of the boards and the type of buildup. Pollen film calls for a different plan than algae. We also note stained or painted areas that need a softer approach.

2. Pretreating the Buildup

Before any rinse, we apply a cleaner that breaks down organic growth and grime. Giving it time to work means the dirt releases evenly across the surface. It also means we can keep the pressure low, which protects the wood grain and helps prevent streaks and lap marks.

3. Controlled Wash for Each Material

With the growth softened, the crew washes using a pressure and technique suited to each surface. Composite gets a different approach than wood pickets or painted rails. Steady, even passes keep the color uniform so the deck does not dry in bands or blotches.

4. Board by Board, Section by Section

Decks are washed along the length of each board, with close attention to spindles, stair treads and the perimeter. Fences are cleaned in matching sections so every panel dries to the same tone. Nothing gets a quick pass that would stand out later.

5. Rinse, Clear and Walk the Finished Deck

We rinse the surrounding landscaping, clear away debris that landed in beds or on the lawn, and leave the space ready to use. A final walk around the deck makes sure the finish is even and the edges match the middle before we pack up.

Deck Cleaning Pricing in West Lake Hills

How much will your deck cost to clean? The honest answer is that it depends on what we find. Deck size, the number of levels and stairs, the type of board, the condition of any stain or paint, and how deep the growth goes all factor in. We also consider how easy the deck is to reach and where we can connect to water. Adding a fence changes the quote based on its length and the material. Quotes for West Lake Hills properties are always free. We confirm the price after a walkthrough or after reviewing photos, never before. If other parts of the home need attention, such as siding or windows, those can be scheduled in the same visit. Phone (512) 662-8422 for your free quote.

Serving West Lake Hills From Our Pond Springs Road Shop

West Lake Hills was founded by Emmett Shelton and incorporated in 1953, and the Emmett Shelton Bridge that links it with Austin still carries his name. The community developed rapidly in the 1970s and 1980s, especially on the south side of the Colorado River. It has stayed compact: 3.7 square miles of land, 3,444 residents and 1,370 housing units at the 2020 census.

For exterior cleaning, the age of a home matters. A house that has stood for forty years has been through forty rounds of pollen season, humid summers and rainy stretches, and growth works into textured siding, porous stone and older concrete a little more each year. The right approach is to match the method to the material rather than to turn up the pressure.

Our crews come out from our shop at 13200 Pond Springs Rd, about 11 miles from West Lake Hills as the crow flies, and we plan each visit around the property in front of us: where the water will run, which plants sit close to the walls, and which surfaces need a soft wash.

We serve West Lake Hills along with the other communities on our service areas page, all from the same crew that handles pressure washing in Austin.

I would say for the price I paid, $800. Only one layer of coating on top and no brush on edges or under the coping stones is extremely disappointing. I could do this top layer coating with a roller for a fraction of the cost myself. Not a professional service.

Deck Cleaning in West Lake Hills: Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Stain and sealer grip clean wood far better than wood coated in pollen, dust or algae. A proper cleaning helps the new coat soak in evenly and last longer. If you are planning to restain, tell us, and we will schedule the cleaning so the boards have time to dry before your painter or stain crew arrives.
Our eco-friendly approach includes protecting your landscaping. We wet down and rinse plants and beds near the deck, and we give everything a final freshwater rinse when the work is done. For pets, we ask that they stay inside during the cleaning and until the surfaces have had a chance to dry.
We do. Composite and capped boards resist rot, but they still collect mildew, pollen film and chalky residue over time. We use a mild cleaner and a wide spray pattern that suits the material, so the planks come up evenly without streaks or scuffs on the embossed texture that gives them their wood look.
Yes. West Lake Hills grew quickly in the 1970s and 1980s, so many homes have older paint, stone and concrete. We look at each surface first and use low pressure and the right solution for its age and material.
Yes. Just let us know when you book. We clean wooden privacy fences, vinyl runs and composite panels, working in even sections so every run dries to the same color. Adding the fence is often convenient because the crew and equipment are already set up in your backyard.
Yes, when the method matches the finish. We lower the pressure, use a cleaner that is gentle on coatings and keep the wand at a safe distance so the color brightens rather than peels. If the stain or paint was already flaking before we arrived, we will show you those spots during the walkthrough.
Most dirt, algae and mildew rinse away completely. A few things can remain, such as rust rings from old furniture, dark shadows from leaves that sat for months, or wood that has worn unevenly. We point these out during the walkthrough so you know what to expect, and we explain your options honestly.
Our shop at 13200 Pond Springs Rd in Austin is about 11 miles from West Lake Hills in a straight line, and West Lake Hills is part of the service area we cover.
