A Cleaner Exterior for Every West Lake Hills Neighborhood

West Lake Hills, which locals simply call Westlake, is a small Travis County city that Emmett Shelton founded and incorporated as a village on September 9, 1953. It sits on Farm Road 2244 about six miles west of downtown Austin, right at the edge of the Edwards Plateau, and its City Hall stands at 4010 Bee Cave Road. That edge shapes the outside of every home here. The hills west of Austin are mostly limestone under a thin layer of topsoil, and Eanes Creek and Little Bee Creek both cut through town. The city has put bond money into raising Camp Craft Road about six feet at the Eanes Creek low water crossing and into 6,500 feet of ditch work along Redbud Trail, which tells you how hard storm water hits this ground. The city says it is committed to keeping its rural setting and natural beauty, and a home here needs at least one acre of land, so houses spread out across the rolling ground. Along Loop 360, the 227 acres of Wild Basin keep a band of native Ashe juniper, yaupon holly and oak inside the city limits. Add Austin’s humid subtropical climate, and a Westlake house deals with runoff after storms, shade from native cover and damp that lingers on the walls and roof slopes that see the least sun.

Our method is simple: we look at every surface before any water goes on, clean siding, roofs and stone with a low-pressure soft wash, and use surface cleaning equipment on concrete. Call (512) 662-8422 and we will set up a free quote for your West Lake Hills home.

Pressure Washing for West Lake Hills Homes and Businesses

Residential Services in West Lake Hills

  • House Washing in West Lake Hills: A low-pressure soft wash that lifts algae, mildew, pollen and dust from siding, trim, soffits and stone accents, with plants protected and every side rinsed evenly so the house dries to one color.
  • Roof Soft Washing in West Lake Hills: Dark streaks and green growth removed from shingle, tile and metal roofs with a roof-safe solution at low pressure, never a pressure wand on the roofing, so the roof brightens without losing granules.
  • Driveway & Garage Cleaning in West Lake Hills: Traffic lanes, oil drips, tire marks and organic film lifted from driveways, aprons, garage floors and walks, with pretreatment first and surface cleaning equipment for an even finish.
  • Window Cleaning in West Lake Hills: Pollen haze, dust film and sprinkler spots cleared from glass, frames, sills and screens, finished with a squeegee so the glass dries clear instead of streaked.
  • Gutter Cleaning in West Lake Hills: Packed leaves and debris removed by hand, corners and valleys cleared and downspouts checked for flow, so water drains away from the house instead of spilling over the edge.
  • Deck & Fence Cleaning in West Lake Hills: Wood, stained, painted and composite decks and fences cleaned with controlled pressure, board by board and section by section, so the boards come out even without splinters or stripes.
  • Natural Stone Cleaning in West Lake Hills: Patios, pool decks, walkways and walls of limestone, travertine, flagstone and slate cleaned with stone-safe methods matched to the material, so the stone keeps its texture and color.

Common Exterior Problems We Clean Around West Lake Hills

Most of what dulls a home’s exterior in Central Texas comes from a short list of causes. These are the ones we clean most often.

Green Algae on Shaded Walls

Walls that miss the afternoon sun stay damp after rain and sprinklers, and a green film spreads across them. A soft wash kills the growth at the root instead of just knocking the top layer off, so it takes longer to return.

Roof Discoloration

Patchy, uneven color on a roof is often organic growth rather than dirt. We clean it with a roof-safe solution at low pressure, never with a pressure wand on the shingles.

Pollen and Dust Haze

A yellow or gray haze on siding, glass and patios is usually pollen mixed with dust. It does not rinse away on its own, and a cleaning solution is what lets it release.

Oil and Tire Marks on Concrete

Heat bakes vehicle drips and tire lanes into driveways and garage floors. Degreaser and dwell time come first, then surface cleaning equipment gives an even finish without stripes.

Mineral Deposits

Irrigation overspray dries into mineral deposits on siding, glass and stone. We look at them on the walkthrough, treat them as part of the job and say plainly what will and will not come off.

Clogged Gutters

Leaves, pollen and grit settle into gutters and turn into sludge that blocks downspouts. Water then pours over the edge and stains the trim below. Clearing the gutters and rinsing the fascia fixes both problems.

What West Lake Hills Homeowners Count On From Us

Here is what homeowners in West Lake Hills can count on when our crew arrives.

Low Pressure Where It Belongs

Paint, siding, shingles and soft stone are cleaned with a soft wash: low pressure and a cleaning solution that breaks down the growth, so the surface comes clean without being worn down. Concrete gets surface cleaning equipment instead.

An Eco-Friendly Way to Clean

Clean Green was built around eco-friendly exterior cleaning. We choose solutions for the surface in front of us, use only what the job needs, and rinse plants and beds so the yard is left the way we found it.

A Local Shop Since 2018

Bryan Gerhold founded Clean Green in 2018, and our crews work out of our shop at 13200 Pond Springs Rd in Austin. We are open Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 8 PM.

A Walkthrough Before the Water Goes On

Every job starts with a look at the surfaces, the stains and the landscaping, so the method fits the property instead of the other way around. You know what we plan to do before we start.

Free Quotes With a Clear Scope

The quote is free and it spells out what we will clean. If you want more than one service, we quote them together so it can all happen in one visit.

The Steps Behind Every West Lake Hills Job

Every West Lake Hills job follows the same five steps, whether it is a single driveway or the whole exterior.

1. Walkthrough

We walk the property with you or on our own, note each surface and material, and find the cause of every stain: pollen film, algae, mildew, runoff, oil or hard water.

2. Prep and Protection

We protect landscaping and sensitive areas before cleaning starts, because a careful job keeps runoff where it belongs.

3. Pretreat

Organic growth and traffic film are broken down with a pretreatment, so the stain releases without extra force.

4. Clean and Rinse

We rinse from the top down, or run surface cleaning equipment across concrete, so the finish dries even without stripes or wand marks.

5. Walk It Again

We check the work as it dries, because some surfaces look perfect wet and show unevenness later, and fix anything that needs it.

What to Expect on Service Day in West Lake Hills

On the day of the visit, the crew arrives in the window we set when you booked and starts with a short walk around the property. If you are home, we go over what we plan to clean and point out anything that needs special care, such as older paint, soft stone or plants close to the walls. If you are away, we only need gates unlocked, pets inside and an outside spigot. We work through the property one area at a time. Before we leave, we check the work, rinse the beds again and tidy the area, so the yard looks the way we found it, only cleaner.

West Lake Hills Pressure Washing Pricing

The 2020 census counted 1,370 housing units in West Lake Hills, and the city puts its own count at about 1,000 homes and about 200 businesses across 2,560 acres, served by roughly 40 miles of public streets. Growth came in waves: the Handbook of Texas lists 714 residents in 1960, 1,488 in 1970 and 2,542 in 1990, and the community developed rapidly in the 1970s and 1980s. Because building here takes at least one acre of land, a single job often covers a long driveway, a spread of walkways and patios, and walls on every side of the house. On rolling ground along roads like Westlake Drive, Laurel Valley Road and Yaupon Valley Road, the grade also decides where equipment can be staged and where rinse water will run, so we plan both during the walkthrough.

Every quote is free and is set after we see the property or a few clear photos. The price depends on:

  • Size: the square footage of siding, roof or concrete to be cleaned
  • Height: the number of stories and how the roofline is reached
  • Surface type: stone, stucco, painted wood, vinyl, tile, shingle or concrete, each with its own method
  • Condition: how heavy the algae, mildew, oil or staining is and how long it has been there
  • Access: slopes, narrow side yards, dense planting and gated areas

Booking more than one service in the same visit is easy, and we quote them together, so a house wash, a roof clean and a driveway clean can all be done in one trip. Call (512) 662-8422 to get started.

I would say for the price I paid, $800. Only one layer of coating on top and no brush on edges or under the coping stones is extremely disappointing. I could do this top layer coating with a roller for a fraction of the cost myself. Not a professional service.

Proudly Serving West Lake Hills With Local Roots

West Lake Hills is a Travis County city of 3,444 people at the 2020 census, founded by Emmett Shelton and incorporated in 1953 on the limestone hills just west of Austin. It covers 3.7 square miles of land and is the only city that lies completely inside Eanes ISD.

Emmett Shelton Bridge on Redbud Trail

The two-lane bridge on Redbud Trail carries the name of the city’s founder and links West Lake Hills with Austin. Built in 1948 and strengthened in 1998, it crosses Lady Bird Lake at Tom Miller Dam in two spans, one on each side of Red Bud Isle. Westlake commuters treat it as a preferred route into town, and dog owners use it to reach the island. Redbud Trail itself is part of the city’s 2021 bond work, which adds 6,500 feet of drainage ditch improvements along the road to carry storm water away.

Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve

Wild Basin covers 227 acres of native Hill Country habitat inside West Lake Hills, with its entrance a mile north of Bee Caves Road on the east side of Loop 360. It opened in 1974 as Austin’s first nature preserve after seven women from a group called Now or Never worked to protect it, and today Travis County and St. Edward’s University own it together. Its 2.5 miles of hiking trails wind through Ashe juniper, yaupon holly, Buckley’s oak and Texas live oak, the main native trees of the preserve.

Eanes Creek and Camp Craft Road

Eanes Creek crosses Camp Craft Road at a low water crossing, and the roads and drainage bond the city passed in 2021 targets that spot directly. The plan raises Camp Craft Road by about six feet and nearby Eanes School Road by about a foot and a half, and it names Little Bee Creek and a tributary to Little Bee Creek among the creeks in the same package of road and drainage work. When a city has to lift a road six feet to keep it above a creek, it says plenty about how hard rain lands here.

Inside the city, daily life runs along a handful of named roads: Westlake Drive, Redbud Trail, Laurel Valley Road, Yaupon Valley Road and Camp Craft Road, all part of the city’s 2021 bond program, with City Hall on Bee Cave Road. Just north of the city limits is Davenport Ranch, which sits south of Lake Austin, east of Loop 360 and north of West Lake Hills. Redbud Trail runs out to the bridge that reaches Red Bud Isle in Lady Bird Lake. Families here are zoned to Eanes ISD schools that include Eanes Elementary, Bridge Point Elementary, Cedar Creek Elementary, Forest Trail Elementary, Hill Country Middle, West Ridge Middle and Westlake High School, which opened in 1970.

West Lake Hills sits at the edge of the Edwards Plateau, where the hills are mostly limestone with a thin covering of topsoil. Thin soil over rock holds little water, so storm runoff moves across yards and drives and leaves silt lines on low concrete, walk edges and the base of retaining walls. Where native juniper and oak stand over a house, leaves and pollen pile up in gutters and roof valleys. In Austin’s humid subtropical climate, shaded walls and roof slopes stay damp long enough for algae and mildew to take hold, and homes from the 1970s and 1980s growth years can have finishes that call for low-pressure soft washing.

We serve West Lake Hills along with every town on our areas served page, from the same crew that handles pressure washing in Austin. See photos and reviews of our pressure washing in West Lake Hills on our Google Business Profile.

Pressure Washing in West Lake Hills: Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Wild Basin’s 227 acres sit inside West Lake Hills, with the entrance on the east side of Loop 360 a mile north of Bee Caves Road, and we serve the homes around it. Houses beside native juniper and oak often carry more leaf litter and shade, so during the walkthrough we look closely at the roof, gutters and shaded walls before any work starts. The quote is free.
Call (512) 662-8422 or request a quote online. We can quote from a visit or from a few clear photos, and the quote is free.
Our shop is at 13200 Pond Springs Rd in Austin, about 11 miles from West Lake Hills in a straight line. We are open Monday to Saturday from 8 AM to 8 PM, so there is room to set a time that fits your week. Quotes are free, and we walk the property with you before we start so you know exactly what will be cleaned and how.
No. A soft wash uses low pressure and lets the cleaning solution do the work, which is why it is the method we use on paint, vinyl, stucco and stone. High pressure is what strips paint and forces water behind siding, and we keep it off those surfaces.
Yes. West Lake Hills sits on rolling limestone hills at the edge of the Edwards Plateau, and since a home here needs at least one acre of land, drives are often long. We clean concrete with surface cleaning equipment built for flatwork, and before we begin we plan where the rinse water will run so it does not head toward a neighbor’s yard or a creek crossing.
It depends on the size of the property and the services booked. A driveway alone is a short visit, while a full exterior with the house, roof and concrete takes longer. We give you a time estimate with the quote.
We protect beds and plants before we start and rinse them during and after the work. We ask that pets stay inside while we clean, and once surfaces are rinsed and dry, the yard is ready for them again.
West Lake Hills developed rapidly in the 1970s and 1980s, so a home from those years is now more than 35 years old and may have paint, trim or stone that has weathered for decades. For those surfaces we use low-pressure soft washing, which cleans without blasting. We check every surface during the walkthrough and match the method to each one before any work begins.
No, as long as we can reach the areas to be cleaned. Gates need to be unlocked, pets kept inside and an outside spigot available. We confirm the details before the visit.
Most homes do well with a house wash about once a year. Shaded walls, heavy pollen seasons and damp areas can call for cleaning more often. We can suggest a schedule after we see the property.
