Stone Cleaning in Barton Creek, TX

Stone Cleaning in Barton Creek, TX with a low-pressure method matched to every surface, from our shop on Pond Springs Road. Free quotes, Monday to Saturday.

Stone Cleaning for Barton Creek Homes

Barton Creek covers 5.4 square miles about seven miles west of downtown Austin, with 1,563 homes set in the hills along the creek it is named for. Hill Country heat, humidity and shade give algae and grime plenty of chances to settle on a home’s exterior.

If the stone around your house has gone dull, patchy or green at the edges, Clean Green Power Washing can bring back its natural color without roughing up the surface. Our company was founded in 2018 around eco-friendly exterior cleaning, and every stone visit in Barton Creek begins the same way: a walkthrough to name the stone, judge the buildup and mark any soft or chipped spots. From there we choose gentle cleaners, keep runoff away from your beds and shrubs where we can, and use only as much pressure as that stone can take. Outdoor kitchens, entry landings, garden walls, stepping paths and pool decks are all part of the work. Reach us Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 8 PM, at (512) 662-8422 for a free quote on stone cleaning.

Where Natural Stone Needs Cleaning Most

Entryways and Porch Landings

An entry laid in limestone or slate sets the tone for the whole front of the house, so dark streaks there are hard to miss. Rain splash from beds, tracked soil and shaded moisture all collect near the door. Our crew protects the threshold and nearby plants, cleans the landing at low pressure and rinses toward the yard, not the house.

Pool Decks and Coping

Pool decks see splash water, sunscreen, chlorine and bare feet every day, which is why they turn slick faster than almost any other stone at the house. Travertine and limestone are common here, and both are calcium based, so we avoid harsh acids. Our cleaning targets the organic film that makes the deck slippery and the edges dark.

Limestone Accents and Facade Stone

Limestone around columns, window ledges, mailboxes and front walls tends to gray or streak where water runs off. Because limestone reacts to acidic products, it needs a neutral, stone-safe approach and low pressure. The aim is to bring back the pale, even tone the stone had when it was set, without leaving a bleached spot behind.

Stairs, Risers and Landings

Stone stairs gather dirt on every edge and nose, and the shaded treads often grow a green film that turns slippery after rain. We clean each step on its own, working the risers, corners and landing so the whole run matches. Cleaner steps look sharper and, with the film gone, they offer better footing too.

5 Common Stone Problems We Clean in Barton Creek

Most calls we get about stone are not about a little dust. They come after the patio or deck has turned dark, blotchy or slick. These are the five problems we see most on natural stone in Barton Creek. Barton Creek sits on the Hill Country side of the Balcones Fault, where the hills are mostly limestone under thin topsoil, so rain runs off quickly and carries grit across hard surfaces.

Green Edges on Steps and Walls

Where stone meets soil, moisture wicks up and green growth follows. Steps, wall bases and planter edges often show it first. Soft washing treats and lifts that growth at low pressure, which protects older mortar and keeps the stone face from getting scarred or pitted during the cleaning.

Algae and Slick Organic Film

Shaded patios, north facing walks and pool decks stay damp long after the sun dries the rest of the yard. Algae and mildew grow in that moisture and leave a dark, slippery coating. Removing it brightens the stone and gives better traction for bare feet and shoes.

Dust Packed Into Joints and Pores

Dry, windy months push fine dust into every pore and joint line. On rough stone like flagstone, that dust turns the whole surface a flat brown. Low pressure cleaning with the right nozzle pulls dirt out of the texture without eroding the joint fill that holds each piece in place.

Stripes From an Earlier Pressure Wash

Some stone we see has already been cleaned once with a narrow, hard tip. That leaves light wand marks, fuzzy spots and uneven lines. Etched stone cannot be undone, but careful, even cleaning can blend the surrounding area so those marks draw far less attention than before.

Grease and Food Spills

Outdoor kitchens and dining areas pick up drips from grills, smokers and serving tables. Oils soak into porous stone and attract more dirt over time. We treat those spots before the main wash so they release along with the rest of the surface and the whole area looks consistent.

Why Barton Creek Homeowners Choose Us

Homeowners in Barton Creek call us for the same reasons our Austin customers do: a careful method, a crew that treats the property with respect and a quote that says exactly what will be done.

Low Pressure Where It Belongs

Paint, siding, shingles and soft stone are cleaned with a soft wash: low pressure and a cleaning solution that breaks down the growth, so the surface comes clean without being worn down. Concrete gets surface cleaning equipment instead.

An Eco-Friendly Way to Clean

Clean Green was built around eco-friendly exterior cleaning. We choose solutions for the surface in front of us, use only what the job needs, and rinse plants and beds so the yard is left the way we found it.

A Local Shop Since 2018

Bryan Gerhold founded Clean Green in 2018, and our crews work out of our shop at 13200 Pond Springs Rd in Austin. We are open Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 8 PM.

A Walkthrough Before the Water Goes On

Every job starts with a look at the surfaces, the stains and the landscaping, so the method fits the property instead of the other way around. You know what we plan to do before we start.

How Our Stone Cleaning Process Works

Our method is built around one idea: clean the stone evenly without changing it. These five steps stay the same on a small entry landing or a large pool deck.

1. On-Site Stone Assessment

Our technician checks what the stone is made of and how it has held up. Calcium stones like travertine and limestone need different products than slate or sandstone. Soft spots, old repairs and loose pieces are marked so they get special care during the cleaning.

2. Pretreatment and Dwell Time

Organic film and packed grime come off more evenly once they are loosened. We apply a stone-safe cleaner suited to the material, then time how long it sits. Too short and it does little, too long and it can affect the surface, so we watch it closely the whole time.

3. Low Pressure Wash With Steady Passes

With the buildup loosened, we wash at a controlled setting and keep the wand moving at a consistent speed and distance. Large patios and decks get full, even coverage so no section dries lighter or darker than the rest of the stone around it.

4. Hand Detailing

Textured faces, step edges, corners and mortar lines are worked separately. These spots trap the most grime and are the first place people notice when something was missed, so they get real time and attention rather than a quick spray and a hope.

5. Final Rinse and Walk Around

We rinse the stone and surrounding areas, including plants and fixtures, then come back once the surface has begun to dry. Stone can look perfect wet and uneven dry, so this last look is where we confirm the finish is right before we leave.

Stone Cleaning Pricing in Barton Creek

Every stone quote in Barton Creek is free, and it is built around your property, not a flat rate. Price depends on the total square footage, the type of stone, how much pollen film or algae has built up, and how many steps, walls or detailed areas are involved. Access counts too, for example a pool deck behind a narrow gate or a terrace down a slope. We set the price after we see the stone in person or review a few clear photos, so there are no surprises on the day. If you also want the house, driveway or windows cleaned, we can handle those in the same visit. Call (512) 662-8422 to start a free quote for your home.

Serving Barton Creek From Our Pond Springs Road Shop

Barton Creek is a census-designated place in Travis County that first appeared in the 2000 census. It counted 3,356 residents and 1,563 housing units in 2020, and it ranks second in Texas by per capita income. It lies about seven miles west of downtown Austin.

West of the Balcones Fault the Austin area turns into rolling hills of limestone with a thin covering of topsoil. That landscape is beautiful, and it also means quick runoff after a storm, shade from hillside trees, and damp spots that hold on long after the sun comes out. Those are the conditions where algae, mildew and organic staining settle in.

Barton Creek is part of the area we serve from our shop at 13200 Pond Springs Rd. We plan larger properties so the crew can finish in a single visit wherever the size allows, and we protect planting beds and outdoor living areas while we work.

We serve Barton Creek along with the other communities on our service areas page, all from the same crew that handles pressure washing in Austin.

I would say for the price I paid, $800. Only one layer of coating on top and no brush on edges or under the coping stones is extremely disappointing. I could do this top layer coating with a roller for a fraction of the cost myself. Not a professional service.

Stone Cleaning in Barton Creek: Frequently Asked Questions

For most homes, once a year keeps stone looking fresh. Pool decks, shaded patios and busy walkways may need cleaning more often, since moisture and foot traffic bring growth and grime back faster. Many homeowners book after cedar pollen season or before summer gatherings, when the outdoor space gets the most use.
We choose eco-friendly, stone-safe products and protect nearby beds before we start. Plants are wetted down and rinsed again after cleaning. Keep pets inside while we work and until the stone has been rinsed. Around pools, we manage runoff carefully and rinse the deck so residue does not collect near the water.
Many stains lift with the right pretreatment, including algae, pollen film and most everyday dirt. Deep rust, old oil and some mineral marks are harder, and they may lighten without disappearing. We point out those spots during the walkthrough so you know what to expect before we begin any work.

Yes. Both are calcium based stones that react to acidic products, so they need a gentler, neutral approach than concrete does. We adjust the cleaner, dwell time and pressure to suit them. Pool surrounds, garden walls and front entries made of these stones are some of the surfaces we clean most often.
Most homes take a few hours. A small entry or walkway may be done quickly, while a large pool deck with stairs, walls and heavy growth takes longer. Pretreatment dwell time is part of the schedule too. We give you a time estimate along with the quote so you can plan your day around it.
In most cases, yes. The slick feel on a pool deck usually comes from organic film and residue sitting on the stone. Removing that layer brings back the natural grip of the surface. Shaded corners and areas near drains tend to improve the most, since they hold moisture the longest.
In most cases, yes. We look at the property and the services you want when we quote, then plan the crew and the time so the work is done in one trip wherever the size allows.
